THE DROWSY CHAPERONE - Theatre Aspen School

AUDITIONS ON OCTOBER 26 FOR THE

HIT BROADWAY SHOW THE DROWSY CHAPERONE

Theatre Aspen School announced auditions to be held on October 26th for its Winter Teen Conservatory production, the Tony Award-winning musical comedy The Drowsy Chaperone,. This “instant classic” wowed Broadway audiences and garnered five Tony wins, including Best Original Score for its delightfully zany musical numbers.

Auditions will be held on Friday, October 26th from 1 to 5pm. Conservatory auditions are open to all teens, and Theatre Aspen School encourages those considering participating to call the Theatre Aspen office to set an appointment.

Director of Education Graham Northrup said, “We need a lot of men for this show, with nine great roles for males, and five outstanding roles for women as well as a chorus. As always, those who audition for Theatre Aspen School will receive constructive feedback to help them improve their auditioning skills.”

The Drowsy Chaperone, with music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison and a book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar, will be directed by Graham Northrup, with music direction by Terry Lee and choreography by Marisa Post. The design team includes Sean Cochran (sets) and Loren Wilder (lighting).

The productions will take place in the Aspen School District Theatre on January 10-13. Tickets go on sale November 5th at the Wheeler Box Office or
aspenshowtix.com.

Registration for other Theatre Aspen School after-school classes and theatre workshops is underway. For further information contact Graham Northrup Theatre Aspen Director of Education, at
