DESCRIPTION
Seeking musical theater performers with rock/pop/musical theater voices for a full-length concert version of an eclectic new musical based on 90’s television heroes! This is a super fun opportunity to perform at an exclusive one-night-only concert for fans of the genre. Concert includes full score and read dialogue [we will have a full band].
See role breakdown below. Casting based primarily on vocal ability, personality, and availability. All ethnicities, types, and genders encouraged to apply.
DATES
Must be available 3 days only [exact times TBD]:
Thursday, April 23 day [rehearsal]
Friday, April 24 day [rehearsal]
Saturday, April 25 day + night [rehearsal + show]
LOCATION
Rehearsal on April 23 will take place in central LA, studio TBD.
Rehearsal/performance on April 24-25 will be at Canyon Creek [41600 Lake Hughes Rd, Lake Hughes, CA 93532]
*Transportation to this location will not be explicitly provided, but we will do our absolute best to carpool if needed.*
COMPENSATION
$200 Stipend. Lunch & Dinner provided on day of performance.

ROLES NEEDED
The Warrior, Female: 18+, Rock/Musical Theater Belter
Range: F#3-D5
A legendary, dark-haired warrior with an even darker past. She is fearsome in battle and displays the strength of many men, yet she has a definite soft spot for her traveling companion. She speaks with action instead of words, and never feels worthy of anything good in her life. A complex character, experiencing deep emotion behind an intimidating mask.
The Queen, Female: 18+, Musical Theater Mezzo-Soprano
Range: A3-D5
She inherited the Amazon throne unexpectedly some time ago. Still growing into her own power as a warrior, the Queen is a storyteller at heart with an innocent upbringing. Her innate goodness is a beacon of hope for all those around her, especially anyone who has a dark past. She is very used to being underestimated, but is much stronger than you think.
The Rookie, Female: 18+, Rock-Musical Theater Belter
Range: E3-E5
An idealistic young Amazon, chosen by The Captain to be next in line to lead the tribe as Regent. Inspiring and ambitious, she has one goal: to bring the Amazon Nation to the height of its former power and abundance. The Rookie may be young, but she’s wise. She knows that the only way forward for her people is forgiveness of the past.
The Captain [ + Ensemble], Female: 18+, Musical Theater
Range: G3-B4
Regent Queen of the Amazons, she keeps everything running perfectly when The Queen is away with The Warrior. She’s responsible for maintaining law and order, as well as training all of the younger Amazons in fighting, scouting, and general tribal knowledge. A fearsome fighter, The Captain is well-respected by all. In the craft of leadership, she is a master of the trade.
The Heart [+ The Villain], Male: 18+, Character *Multiple Roles
Range: Tenor D3-F#4
A clumsy nomad with a heart of gold. Despite the fact that he seriously lacks the skills of a warrior, he will always put his life on the line for the people he loves. It’s hard not to adore this goofy guy, even when he (heavily) exaggerates the tales of his heroic deeds.
[ + The Villain: A greedy businessman with shady practices who deals priceless treasures on the black market, after stealing them most likely. Self-obsessed, power hungry, and thinks he is a genius.]
The Goddess, Female: 18+, Musical Theater Voice
Range: C4-D5
This immortal is the very image of all things Love. She’s beautiful and charming, but don’t let her looks trick you into thinking she’s just a pretty face - there are many types of love and relationships, after all, and most can be very complicated. At the moment she is having some of those complicated feelings for, dare we say it, mortals!
The God [+ The Goon], Male: 18+, Bass Rocker *Multiple Roles
Range: Bass/Baritone, exact range flexible. Looking for a low/deep voice who can also sing falsetto like the Bee-Gees.
The God: A lovable villain who is the very definition of Bad Boy. Leather-clad from head to toe, this warrior God loves all things badass and chaos-driven. War is the only solution, might is right, and all that… he’s got magnetism! Speaking of, he is desperately in love with The Warrior, but (in her expert opinion) the Goddess would call it unrequited.
[+ The Goon: Bumbling blockhead and right-hand man to The Villain. Incapable of thinking for himself, or at all really.]
