SPRING AWAKENING - Clackamas Community College Theatre

Mark your calendars for Monday, March 16th at 4pm, as Clackamas Community College Theatre Department is holding a 2nd round of auditions for the Spring 2020 production of Spring Awakening the Musical.

Most of the cast has been selected - for this audition we are looking to cast the roles of Hanschen and Ernst.

Plot Summary: Spring Awakening is a rock musical with music by Duncan Sheik and book and lyrics by Steven Sater. It is based on the 1891 German play Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind. Set in late 19th-century Germany, the musical tells the story of teenagers discovering the inner and outer tumult of teenage sexuality.

Please prepare a one-minute monologue and 16-20 bars of music from a musical or pop standard. Bring sheet music, clearly marked (an accompanist will be provided).

Auditions are by appointment from 4-6pm in the Osterman Theatre (in the Niemeyer Building) at the Oregon City campus of Clackamas Community College.

To sign up for an audition slot call or email.

Rehearsals will begin March 30th and rehearsals typically take place Mon-Thur. from 6-9:30pm.
Performance dates: May 21-31, 2020 (Thur-Sat at 7:30pm, Sun. at 2:30pm + Friday, May 29 at 10am)

Roles (as described by the playwright):

Hanschen: male, late teen/young adult, tenor
Ernst: male, late teen/young adult, bari-tenor

CCC is committed to casting that is inclusive of all genders, ethnicities & physical abilities. Please do not be discouraged to audition even if you don't fit the age profile, as we may end up casting older or younger for the roles depending on those who audition.
