WHAT TO PREPARE:
Auditionees are requested to prepare a monologue/soliloquy from the play which you may pick from the options listed on our website. You do NOT need to memorize the monologue (though congratulations if you can do so!) – it is okay to read from the page. We are requesting that you have prepared enough in advance of the audition to present something that showcases your talent, and that you understand the scene context, character motivation, and the text. No prior Shakespeare experience is required, but special consideration will be given to Actors who can demonstrate in the audition an interest, enthusiasm and willingness to do the extra legwork required to work with this type of classical text.
If you can sing, or play any musical instrument at all, the production team would be also interested in knowing about these skills during your audition, as live music may be incorporated into the play as skill sets and storytelling opportunities align.
Additionally, note that this production rehearses over the winter holidays. Do not audition if you will be unable to commit to a rehearsal process during this time. Auditionees are requested to bring a full calendar of potential conflicts that would affect the following rehearsal and performance schedule.
REHEARSAL & PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:
Exact schedule will be determined and distributed after casting, but generally:
*Rehearsals will be held on Sunday afternoons, and Monday and Wednesday evenings.
*Some Tuesday and Thursday evenings will be added later in the process.
*Regular rehearsals will begin after Thanksgiving.
*There will be NO REHEARSALS on December 23, 24, 25, 26, 31, or January 1.
*Tech Week will be Saturday, January 21 – Thursday, January 26. Until the final schedule is determined, please hold ALL EVENINGS during tech week as well as day time hours on Saturday-Sunday January 21-22.
*Show opens Friday, January 27, 2017, and runs for THREE WEEKENDS (Friday and Saturday evenings, Sunday matinees)
