Seeking: 5 diverse female or female-identifying parody writer/performers. Each perfomer will write and perform 2 parody songs on any current political topic, as well as perform in 2 group numbers. Any genre is fine - pop, musical theatre, country, rap, etc. Looking for political passion, great comedic writing and strong stage presence.
Show Info: Grab 'Em By the Parody, a political parody cabaret, will be performed Sept 7th and 8th at the Producers Club. Rehearsals will begin Aug 24, and will be scheduled around performer and MD availability. Time commitment roughly 10 hours rehearsal, plus 4 performances over 2 nights. Performers will each be paid a stipend of $75.
To submit, please email the following things:
1. A sample of your parody writing. It does NOT have to be what you would do in the show, nor a whole song, but at least a verse and chorus to give me a sense of your writing style. It can be a pdf, or google doc.
2. A video link of you singing. It needs to be with accompaniment and not a capella. I want to see how entertaining you are, insane belting or high notes are not important. If its part of a longer video, please note what 2 minutes you want me to watch.
3. Your headshot and resume
