Le Petit Theatre will conclude its 2025-26 season with the Tony Award-winning musical Once, running June 4-21, 2026 in New Orleans. Directed by Conner Wilson, the musical features a book by Enda Walsh and music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, based on the acclaimed film written and directed by John Carney.
Set on the streets of Dublin, Once follows an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant who are brought together through their shared love of music. Over the course of a single week, their unexpected friendship blossoms into a deeply complicated love story, underscored by the show's celebrated score. The musical remains the only Broadway show to feature music that has earned an Academy Award, Olivier Award, and Tony Award.
The production stars Patrick Cragin as Guy and Josie Oliva as Girl. The cast also includes Charlie Antis as Ensemble, Alex Barnes as Svec, Owen Callahan as Emcee, Molly Graham as Ex-Girlfriend, J.J. Hammerle as Bank Manager, Noah Hazzard as Andrej, John Jabaley as Da, Brian Sanford as Billy, Judy Lea Steele as Baruska, Emma Velasquez as Reza, Jake Wynne-Wilson as Eamon, and TBD as Ivonka.
The creative team includes music director Ainsley Matich, choreographer Chase Kamata, scenic designer William Boles, Costume Designer Kaci Thomassie, lighting designer Dan Zimmer, sound designer James Lanius, properties designer Deborah Bommer-Morrissey, production stage manager Carlie Claire Goodlett, and assistant stage manager Duncan Stone.
Performances run Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m., with an additional 2:00 p.m. matinee on Saturday, June 20. The production has an approximate runtime of two-and-a-half to three hours, including one 15-minute intermission.
Le Petit Theatre is also offering a special package for the final two productions of its 2025-26 season. Audiences can purchase Tier 2 or Tier 3 tickets to both God of Carnage and Once for $80, including fees. God of Carnage runs April 30-May 17, 2026.
Executive producers for Once are Jill and Minor Pipes and Gayle Terribile and Jimmy Ellis. Associate producers are Scott Hutcheson and David Hoover.
