The Barn Theatre in Montville, New Jersey continues its 88th Season by holding open auditions for its upcoming production of "Crossing Delancey", written by Susan Sandler. "Crossing Delancey" will be directed by Susan Binder.
AUDITION DATES: 7:00 - 9:00 pm on Thursday July 9th, Sunday July 12th and Monday, July 13th
CALLBACK (by invitation only): July 13th 8:30 pm
PERFORMANCE DATES: September 11 - October 3rd 2015 (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and possible Thursday benefit performances)
SHOW DESCRIPTION:
A romantic comedy set in NYC in late 1980's. Two worlds collide when Isabelle and her Bubbie don't see eye to eye about Izzy's social life. Throw in a matchmaker, a noted author and a pickleman and you have the makings of a delightful evening of entertainment.
CAST REQUIREMENTS (3 women, 2 men):
BUBBIE: female, 70+, a feisty,sharp witted woman who lives on the lower east side. Must be able to speak with a Yiddish accent. Izzy's grandmother.
ISABELLE: female, mid to late 20's, granddaughter, independent, bookish dreamer. A bit socially naive.
HANNAH: female, 50ish, a large woman, professional matchmaker, wheeler dealer.
SAM: male, early 30's, gentle, intuitive, appealing, wise for his years.
TYLER: male, early 40's, author, handsome, overly charming, self-involved.
Actors are asked to arrive to sign in within the first hour of the audition start time. All roles are available. Casting is open, and newcomers are especially welcomed. Crew and other volunteers are also needed for the event. If interested, please contact info@barntheatre.org
