1776 at Surflight Theatre

(Beach Haven) Surflight Theatre is enthusiastic to share the toe tapping show 1776 The Musical. With music and lyrics by Sherman Edwards and a book by Peter Stone. The show is based on the events leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, telling a story of the efforts of John Adams to persuade his colleagues to vote for American independence and to sign the document. The show premiered on Broadway in 1969 where it received acclaim and won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Directed by Andrew Glant-Linden and associate Bev Brennan. This brilliant and remarkably moving work of theatrical art is sure to enchant you. With superb performances from Don Daniels Ernenwein as Adams, Noah Lyons as Thomas Jefferson, and Father Frank Crumbaugh as Benjamin Franklin. You won't want to miss this show.
