The Theater Company's THE WILD PARTY Closes

By:

The Theater Company of Hoboken (TTC) hosts a musical party through February 19, 2012 with LaChiusas THE WILD PARTY -- Monroe Theatrespace in Monroe Center for the Arts, 720 Monroe St., Hoboken, NJ.

About this event: "1920s Manhattan decadence provides the backdrop for this tough musical fable with a book by George C. Wolfe & Michael John LaChiusa, and music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa. THE WILD PARTY is based on the poem by Joseph Moncure March and tells the story of a party to end all parties hosted by a pair of Vaudevillian performers – Queenie and Burrs. The jazz and gin soaked party rages to a mounting sense of threat as artifice and illusion are stripped away. When midnight debauchery leads to tragedy at dawn, the high-flying characters land with a sobering thud, reminding us that no party lasts forever. MATURE SUBJECT MATTER - may be inappropriate for younger audiences."

“This is one of the most ambitious shows we've done, “remarks Producing Artistic Director, David Zimmerman. “The subject matter is intense and musically it's tough, but where it's ambitious, we've put together an entertaining yet thought provoking performance that leaves the audience walking away with questions and maybe even some revelations about society and/or their own life.

With Direction by Jenny Fersch, Musical Direction by Daniel Lepek, and Choreography by Coleen Rand, the cast features TTC regulars Kelly Anne Wadler as “Queenie” and Branan Whitehead as “Burrs” heading the cast. Other familiar faces are: Brandon Lavon Hightower, Tatum Kenney, Fred
Mursch, Liza Poor, MJ Riggins and Kelly Rosado, with Shannon Anne Piegaro, Jason Pumarada, Roy Richardson, John Patrick Sabatos, Michelle Samarel, Samantha Sannazzaro and Tim White making their TTC debut.
