New Brunswick/Piscataway, NJ (October 9, 2016)-Rutgers University's The Livingston Theatre Company (LTC) presents Little Shop of Horrors on November 10, 11, 12 and 13 with 8pm showings Thursday through Saturday, and 2pm showings on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at ruLTC.org or at the door. Tickets range from $8-12.

The first show of LTCs 19th season, Little Shop of Horrors, tells the story of a lovelorn florist shop worker who raises an alien plant that consumes human flesh and blood. The show follows the story of Seymour, who works at a run-down flower shop on the verge of closing, and pines for his co-worker, Audrey. When he discovers a strange plant that appears during a solar eclipse, it seems as if Seymour's luck has turned around. However, the plant's unusual eating habits start to cause problems for Seymour. Narrated by a street urchin trio reminiscent of The Supremes, Little Shop of Horrors tells a story of greed, love, loss, with a final message: Don't feed the plants.

Inspired by the much darker and far less intentionally campy 1960 Roger Corman film of the same name, this rock musical version of "Little Shop of Horrors" by Academy Award, Golden Globe Award and Tony Award-winners Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman, premiered Off Broadway in 1982 before enjoying a successful run on Broadway and in London's West End, eventually inspiring a film version by veteran puppeteer Frank Oz.

The Livingston Theatre Company (LTC), Rutgers' Premiere Musical Theatre Organization, is a home for theatrical arts at Rutgers University. Founded in the fall of 1998, the LTC provides quality and affordable musical theater to Rutgers students and the communities of Central New Jersey. The Livingston Theatre Company is completely student run, comprised of over 150 students involved in each production ranging from performers, directors, choreographers, lighting/Sound Designers, costumes and props, and more. The company builds its stage and set within this open space themselves, as they are completely student run and self-sufficient. LTC is known for its high level of professionalism and quality productions.

LTC will perform Little Shop Of Horrors at the Livingston Student Center in Livingston Hall.
