ROCK OF AGES, MEAN GIRLS, SWEENEY TODD and More Set For The Actors Studio Of New Jersey 2026 Season
THE LIGHTNING THIEF and ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME also join the season at Dunellen Theatre
The Actors Studio of New Jersey has announced its 2026 mainstage season, featuring five productions at the Dunellen Theatre. The lineup includes ROCK OF AGES, THE LIGHTNING THIEF, MEAN GIRLS, SWEENEY TODD, and ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME.
The season continues the company’s residency at the Dunellen Theatre and reflects its focus on presenting a range of musical styles and genres, from classic rock and mythology to contemporary pop and musical theatre adaptations.
ROCK OF AGES
ROCK OF AGES will run June 19 through June 28, with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. The jukebox musical features songs from the 1980s rock era and follows two young dreamers pursuing careers on the Sunset Strip.
THE LIGHTNING THIEF
THE LIGHTNING THIEF will be presented July 24 at 8:00 p.m., July 25 at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and July 26 at 2:00 p.m. Based on the novel by Rick Riordan, the musical follows Percy Jackson as he discovers his identity as the son of a Greek god.
MEAN GIRLS
MEAN GIRLS will run September 11 through September 20, with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. The musical follows high school student Cady Heron navigating social dynamics and identity.
SWEENEY TODD
SWEENEY TODD will run October 16 through October 25, with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. The musical thriller by Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler tells the story of the barber of Fleet Street.
ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME
ONCE UPON A ONE MORE TIME will be presented June 19 through June 28, with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. The musical features the songs of Britney Spears and reimagines classic fairy tale characters.
Artistic Director Michael Restaino said the season reflects the company’s commitment to expanding access to live theatre and continuing its partnership with the Dunellen Theatre.
