Paper Mill Playhouse Presents Over 120 New Artists In Summer Musical Theatre Conservatory

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Artistic Director, Mark W. Jones-Executive Director) is proud to present over 120 New Jersey young artists from Paper Mill Playhouse's Summer Musical Theater Conservatory in a musical celebration of the past 15 years of Broadway's best musicals.

The five-week Summer Conservatory culminates with a fully produced, original concert on the Paper Mill Playhouse main-stage directed and choreographed by Paper Mill's professional artistic staff. Students from the Senior, Junior Plus, and Junior Companies of the Conservatory (ages 10-18) participate in intensive classes including musical theater performance, acting, dance, improvisation, and attend guest workshops led by professional actors, directors, and casting agents.

For two days only, Friday, July 31st at 7:30pm and Saturday, August 1st at 3:00pm and 7:30pm students will perform songs from Broadway musicals such as Billy Elliot, Next to Normal, Mary Poppins, Wicked, Light in the Piazza, Ragtime, and Jersey Boys. The Paper Mill Playhouse Summer Musical Theater Conservatory is a five-week program of vigorous study allowing students to enhance their individual performance potential while developing a broad base of theater experience and knowledge.

The finAl Weeks are devoted to rehearsals for the New Voices Concert, performed annually on the Paper Mill stage. The Conservatory offers the unique opportunity for gifted and talented young performers to work at their own level and challenge themselves to achieve new goals and learn new skills. Key to the curriculum is the development of self discipline, respect, and a commitment to excellence that will serve these young artists throughout their lives.
