NJPAC Will Present Itzhak Perlman, Max Richter, ACME and Canadian Brass in Final Classical Concerts of 2026
The Newark venue will host MAX RICHTER WITH THE AMERICAN CONTEMPORARY MUSIC ENSEMBLE in Richter's NJPAC debut.
New Jersey Performing Arts Center will present the final classical concerts of its 2026 season, featuring appearances by Max Richter, Itzhak Perlman, and Canadian Brass.
The lineup brings a mix of orchestral and chamber music performances to the center’s venues in Newark. Performances will take place throughout the year, concluding the season with a range of programs spanning contemporary composition, classical repertoire, and holiday music.
The closing concerts at New Jersey Performing Arts Center will begin on June 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Prudential Hall with pianist and composer Max Richter performing alongside the American Contemporary Music Ensemble. The program will feature Richter’s original works, performed with a chamber ensemble led by artistic director Clarice Jensen. Richter’s work spans classical and electronic traditions and includes scores for film, dance, and visual art.
On October 25 at 3:00 p.m., violinist Itzhak Perlman will return to NJPAC for a matinee program in Prudential Hall with pianist Rohan De Silva. The performance will combine live music with storytelling, personal photographs, and film clips from the documentary Itzhak. The program will explore Perlman’s life and career, including his early years in Israel and his international work as a performer and educator.
The season will conclude on December 12 at 3:00 p.m. in the Victoria Theater with a holiday concert by Canadian Brass. The quintet—featuring Joe Burgstaller, Mikio Sasaki, Jeff Nelsen, Keith Dyrda, and Chuck Daellenbach—will perform seasonal repertoire alongside selections from its extensive catalog. The ensemble has toured internationally for decades and has recorded more than 130 albums.
Founded in 1997, NJPAC is a performing arts center based in Newark, New Jersey, presenting a range of music, theater, and community programming. The organization reports more than 12.7 million visitors since opening and continues to host performances across multiple venues on its campus.
