Centenary Stage Company to Hold Fall 2015 Interviews for Young Performers Workshop, 8/15 & 17

By:

Centenary Stage Company's critically acclaimed Young Performers Workshop will be holding Fall Session interviews by appointment on Saturday August 15 and Sunday August 17.

Led by theatre, TV and film veteran Michael Blevins, the Fall Session will run 15 weeks from September 12 through December 21 and culminates in a two-week Festival of Shows from December 12-21. Classes meet Saturdays by section between the hours of 10am - 6pm. Students will rehearse productions while also studying voice, dance, and acting. Registration is open to students 8 - 18 and no prior experience is required.

The Centenary Stage Company Young Performers Workshop (YPW) is a musical theatre program under the auspices of the Centenary Stage Company, a not-for-profit professional Equity Theatre Company in residence at Centenary College. YPW is dedicated to the enrichment of young lives through the use of theatre arts and serves as a greenhouse for cultivating young theatre performers. The program is one of the few that offers both formal training and production experience while designed to meet the needs of beginning, intermediate and advanced young performers. Career - minded individuals can prepare for the rigors of a professional career, yet students not aiming for a professional career benefit from the program with its emphasis on discipline, self - worth and development of communication skills. The program includes the production of two major musicals.

For more information visit us online at centenarystageco.org. To schedule an interview contact the Centenary Stage Company administrative Office at (908) 979 - 0900. All new applicants must schedule an interview for admittance into the program. Early appointments receive priority placement as enrollment is competitive and limited. Deadline for registration is September 1, 2015.

The Young Performers Workshop is part of the educational arm of the professional Centenary Stage Company. Programs at CSC are made possible through the generous support of the Geraldine Dodge Foundation, the NJ State Council on the Arts, and CSC members and sponsors.
