Casting is complete for the world premiere of An American Country Christmas Carol, a new musical that will be presented in a staged reading at Franklin's Boiler Room Theatre on December 5, 6 and 12 at 8 p.m. Heading the cast as Ebenezer Scrugg is Larry Tobias, whose selected credits include the national tour of Stand By Your Man and numerous productions of Ring of Fire. In Nashville he has been seen as Pap in Tennessee Rep's Big River and in Studio Tenn's Our Town.

An Evening in December with Mark J Thomas and Friends is the perfect show to inspire the holiday mood. 'It is part Trans-Siberian Orchestra, part Radio City Music Spectacular, and part Bing Crosby Christmas special, with comedy and original music to celebrate the season,' promises producer Asa Ambrister.
Nashville Symphony Competes for Pepsi Refresh Funding

Throughout the entire month of December, the Nashville Symphony is in the running to receive a $250,000 grant through the Pepsi Refresh Project. Finalists are determined by popular vote, and members of the public are encouraged to vote every day during the month of December to help the Symphony win this national grant competition. Funding will go toward outfitting and operating the Nashville Symphony's Music Mobile, a musical field trip on wheels for Middle Tennessee youth. To vote, visit www.refresheverything.com/musicmobile, or text Pepsi (73774) from your mobile phone with the message: 104869 (standard text messaging rates apply). The Music Mobile will be a rolling music education center featuring an Instrument Petting Zoo, a hands-on introduction to classical, country and bluegrass instruments. Children and adults alike will have the opportunity to participate in music-making experiences, live music demonstrations and multimedia instrument exhibits when the Music Mobile rolls into town to visit schools, community centers, parks and festivals.

Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and then some!) Opens 12/10 at Pull-Tight Players Theater

What would happen if you gave five actors 90 minutes to perform every Christmas tradition, movie, TV special, and song? You'd get 'Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!)'. The talented, if somewhat overwhelmed, performers (Robby Coles, Beth Henderson, Dresden Leebron, James Rudolph, and Owen Sullivan) each have to take on 12+ roles, from Rudolph to Frosty to the Grinch to Ebenezer Scrooge. Through it all, the actors keep the laughs coming, often improving to insure a new experience for every audience. The show promises to be a madcap romp, lovingly parodying many of the institutions of the season that we all hold dear.

Frist Receives Grant from NEA for Vishnu Exhibition
