Pull-Tight Players Theater Announces Doubt, Opens 1/21

By:

Opening January 21, Doubt, a Parable is the 2005 Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning drama. (You may have seen the 2009 Oscar nominated movie that was based on this play.) Set in a Catholic grammar school in 1964, the longstanding school principal, hard nosed Sister Aloysius, comes to question the moral character of the popular, more progressive Father Flynn. Once her doubts are set in motion, Sister Aloysius is determined to oust Flynn, with or without proof. An explosive cat-and-mouse game ensues, challenging the audience to choose sides in the battle.

Director Heather Bottoms has assembled a stellar cast to bring this powerful drama to life. Debbie Kraski and Dan Kassis return to the Pull-Tight stage as "Sister Aloysius" and "Father Flynn." We also have two newcomers to Pull-Tight: Emory Colvin as "Sister James" and Yvette Taylor as "Mrs. Muller."

Ricki Keckley is Producer and Megan Nussle is Stage Manager for the production. Iain Macpherson has built the set and Jonathan Smeeton is the Lighting Designer. Costumes are coordinated by Laurel Aiello and Anne Rittenberry. Kenzie Bottoms and Carmen Klapperich will be running lights and sound for the show.

Performance dates are January 21, 22, 27-30 and February 4 and 5. There will be an interpreted performance (with signers Harriet Harms and Karla Kelso) on Thursday, January 27. All performances are at 7:30 p.m. except for Sunday, January 30, which is a 2:30 p.m. matinee. Doors open 30 minutes prior to curtain time.

Tickets may be purchased beginning January 10. Ticket prices are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors (60 and up), and $12 for students through high school and may be purchased online through our website. Tickets may also be purchased by phoning (615) 791-5007 Tuesday through Friday between 10am and 4pm and charging to Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
