Feel the gravitational pull of Limón Dance Company’s passionate modern dance radiating with the triumph of the human spirit. Highly acclaimed for dramatic expression and technical mastery, the company captivates with the storytelling of founder José Limón. The program includes Limón’s “Missa Brevis” (1958), an emotional modern ballet set to Zoltán Kodály’s score and incorporating the Northrop organ, University Singers and UMN dance students; and the world premiere of a Northrop Centennial Commission by celebrated choreographer Akram Khan that reimagines Limón’s masterpiece “The Moor’s Pavane” (1949).
