Playwrights @ Work presents four original one-act plays written by local authors. The festival includes Sushi by Udi Kapen, The Coat by Penelope Calcaterra, A Case for Marriage by Laura Bradshaw-Tucker, and Digging Together by Jennifer Ward. Each play offers a unique slice of life, exploring themes of dating after loss, family secrets, marriage equality, and addiction. Performances are held Friday and Saturday at 8:00pm and Sunday at 2:00pm.

January 11, 2021 A production of “Guys & Dolls” spurred David Carroll to pursue starting a new theatre group in January of 2020. Musical theatre was a passion he shared with his father, though usually from the audience. In 2019, he joined the Birmingham Village Players in several small roles in “Guys & Dolls” and was inspired by the all the local talent and wanted to provide more opportunities for cast and crew to work and get paid for it. Soon after, Nicely Theatre Group (named for “Guys & Dolls character Nicely-Nicely) was born.About the Theatre
