Rosedale Community Players (RCP) is proud to present their annual One Act Festival with four performances from September 5-7, 2019. The festival will feature seven one act plays by Michigan playwrights.
The shows will be performed by 21 local actors from a variety of Metro Detroit communities.The plays to be presented are: Cliff Dwellers by Dave Haddad and directed by Laurie Smalis, Memory Foam written and directed by Tony Targan, There's No Place Like Nome by Marilyn Zerlak and directed by Laurie Smalis, Book Ends by Shawn Samuelson Henry and directed by Meg Berger, The King of Rejections by Maureen Paraventi and directed by Meg Berger, Sophia's Choice by Danny Dubin and directed by Chuck Goddeeris, and The Wedding Band by Robert Maes and directed by Chuck Goddeeris.
Every year, RCP encourages writers of all levels to submit their one act shows to be considered for the festival. This year there were 46 submissions. Each play submitted was read by a specially selected committee from within RCP membership.
The festival takes place at the beginning of each season, and is used to raise funds for the community theatres building fund.
RCP proudly performs all shows at Peace Lutheran Church at 17029 W. 13 Mile in Southfield.The Rosedale Community Players is a volunteer group who produce a wide variety of plays each and every year and draws members and patrons from the entire Greater Metro Detroit Areas. They have been producing quality community theatre since 1969 and are celebrating their 51st season this year.
