The South Florida Symphony Orchestra opens its 27th Key West Icons & Rebels Masterworks season with Leonard Bernstein’s satirical masterpiece Candide. Under the direction of Sebrina María Alfonso, this semi-staged concert features a dynamic cast including David Walton as Candide, Chelsea Lehnea as Cunegonde, and Jason Zacher as Dr. Pangloss/Voltaire, among others. Audiences will follow Candide's humorous and philosophical journey, accompanied by Bernstein's iconic music inspired by Voltaire’s novella. The performance promises an engaging exploration of life’s absurdities and the quest for optimism.
