The Phantom of The Opera is making its triumphant return to Broward Performing Arts Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida as part of its National Tour. The production will open Wednesday, October 10, 2018 and will run through Sunday, October 21 with an open captioned performance on October 20 at 2:00pm as well as a signed performance on October 19 at 8:00pm.
Winner of seven 1988 Tony Awards including Best Musical, and now the longest-running show in Broadway history, The Phantom of the Opera is based on the novel by Gaston Leroux. It tells the story of the hideously deformed Phantom who lurks beneath the stage of the Paris Opera, exercising a reign of terror over its occupants. The phantom falls in love with the young Soprano devoting himself to creating a new star for the Opera by nurturing her extraordinary talents and employing all the skills at his disposal.
