Kravis Center Adds Singer Storm Large to 25th Anniversary NIGHT OF STARS
The spectacular 25th Anniversary NIGHT OF STARS will be hosted by master showman Michael Feinstein and feature an amazing line-up of award-winning performers and show biz legends including (in alphabetical order) organist Cameron Carpenter, actors/singers Alan Cumming and Darren Criss, singers Denyce Graves and Neil Sedaka, plus movement artists Lil Buck and Jon Boogz, Greg Schreiner's Hollywood Revisited, Tap Ensemble by Nouveau Productions, the Kravis Center Pops Orchestra with conductor Sam Krieger, and more. Robert Pullen is serving as director of this star-studded extravaganza that will be filled with surprises.
Storm Large shot to national prominence in 2006 as a finalist on the CBS show Rock Star: Supernova, where she built a fan base that follows her around the world to this day. Highlights of her 2016-17 season include debuts with the Atlanta, Baltimore, and BBC Symphony Orchestras, as well as return engagements with the National Symphony Orchestra and Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Recent highlights include engagements with the New York Pops, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Houston Symphony, RTÉ Dublin, and Toronto Symphony Orchestra, as well as performances at Carnegie Hall and the United States Capitol.
Storm made her debut with the band Pink Martini in 2011, singing four sold-out concerts with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. She continues to tour internationally with the band. Her memoir, Crazy Enough, was released by Simon and Schuster in 2012 and was named Oprah's Book of the Week. In the fall of 2014, Storm & Le Bonheur released a record designed to capture their sublime and subversive interpretations of the American Songbook. Entitled simply Le Bonheur, the recording is a collection of tortured and titillating love songs: beautiful, familiar, yet twisted ...much like the lady herself.
