Viva la muerte is a choreographic program presented by the Compañía Mexicana de Danza Folklórica, directed and choreographed by José Alfredo Soní Perusquía. Running from October 10 to October 13, this performance honors the Mexican tradition of Día de Muertos through a blend of pre-Hispanic and contemporary expressions, showcasing the various perceptions of death in Mexican culture. The work aims to evoke feelings of love and joy in the face of adversity, while drawing inspiration from traditional Mexican motifs and the artwork of José Guadalupe Posada.
