Rogue Artists Ensemble presents Schlitzie: Alive and Inside, a limited engagement that delves into the life of Schlitzie, an iconic performer from the sideshow circuit in the early 20th century. Through a memory collage, the production highlights Schlitzie’s experiences, including his role in Todd Browning’s film Freaks, while showcasing themes of resilience and community among marginalized artists. The play is written by Eric Fagundes and directed by Nikki DiLoreto, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Carlos Chavez, Patricia Ann Eyerman, and Mark McLain Wilson. Set against the backdrop of the Heritage Square Museum, the production aims to unveil the untold stories behind Schlitzie's celebrated yet often misunderstood life.
