The Surge: An Ode to Sinéad O'Connor is an L.A. premiere presented as a Joyce Theater Production, directed and choreographed by Sonya Tayeh, known for her Tony Award–winning choreography for Moulin Rouge! The Musical. The work is performed by a cast of 10 women with a collective 500 years' experience, set to Sinéad O'Connor's emotionally raw recorded music. The production explores resilience, rebellion and the enduring power of female expression, driven by the presence, strength and vulnerability of its performers.
