After selling out LONDON’S CAMDEN FRINGE to wonderful reviews (“a one man show that is open and heartfelt, biographical and vulnerable,” Review Hub: London), Hal Cantor’s THE IMPORTANCE OF BEINGANXIOUS brings the angst (and the laughs) to Hollywood Fringe. It’s a coming-0f-middle-age comedy about coming out late. Among other things anxiety-producing.
Featuring the voice of RICKI LAKE, Hal’s raw, honest, if often painfully hilarious look at himself — and the state of his mental health as it pertains to sexuality, religion, grief, relationships — is spot-on for our time.
Directed by immensely-talented London theater artist, Ralph Bogard, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING ANXIOUS — by its very form — demonstrates theater’s unique ability to reflect life back to us, with humor and heart. And lots of gay sex.
