PRINCESS TAM TAM is a musical comedy directed by Edmond Gréville, featuring Josephine Baker in a role that highlights her comedic and musical talents. The film follows Max de Mirecourt, a French novelist who travels to Tunisia and meets Alwina, a free-spirited shepherdess. Inspired by her, he attempts to transform her into a sophisticated socialite known as “Princess Tam Tam,” leading to unexpected consequences when she becomes a sensation in Paris. This screening will be curated by Dr. Terri Francis, who will bring insightful commentary to the film's rich themes.
