MARY VanARSDEL is a multi-award-winning actress and singer with nearly 150 credits to her name. She is best known for originating the role of Miss Shingle in the First National Broadway tour of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical A Gentleman's Guide To Love And Murder and for originating The Bird Woman in the First National Broadway tour of Mary Poppins. She has been seen in productions coast to coast at many of the top regional theaters as well as in film and television. She has performed in The Ogunquit Playhouse, Hartford Stage, TUTS Houston, The Pasadena Playhouse, The Ahmanson Theatre, The Hollywood Bowl, and ACT Seattle. Some of her favorite roles have been Mama Rose in Gypsy, Carlotta in the Yeston/Kopit Phantom, Lilly Byrne in A Man Of No Importance, The Countess in Dear World, and Lilly/Kate in Kiss Me Kate, among others. Mary is remembered fondly for originating the role of cornflakes-throwing Jetta in the world premiere production of Angry Housewives in Seattle. She made her feature film debut in the 1993 summer blockbuster, In The Line Of Fire, and her TV debut in a recurring role on the final season of "LA Law". Other TV appearances include "Prodigal Son," “Boardwalk Empire," "Miracles," "Gilmore Girls," "Melrose Place," and many others.
