One of the worlds most prolific film composers, A.R. Rahman is known for bringing Indian classical music together with orchestral arrangements as well as electronic music and sounds from across the globe. Over his 30-year career, that approach has made him a six-time winner of the Indian National Award and a 32-time Filmfare Award winner. In 2008, his score for Slumdog Millionaire brought him to international prominenceand the Oscars, the Grammys, and the Golden Globes, all of whom awarded him statues. Along the way, hes collaborated with everyone from Mick Jagger and U2 to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
