Weathervane Theatre Appoints Ethan Paulini Producing Artistic Director

Weathervane Theatre in Whitefield, NH has appointed Ethan Paulini as Producing Artistic Director. Paulini served as Acting Co-Artistic Director during the 2018 53rd Season. He began as a member of the AEA Acting Company in 2012 and has also served as director of the intern program.

"I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to continue the vision of Gibbs Murray and the late Tom Haas and lead this next chapter of this nationally recognized theatrical institution" Paulini said in a statement "The Weathervane is a special place that has afforded me some of the most significant artistic achievements and important relationships of my career. I am so excited to continue to deliver the incredible productions and top notch artists the North Country audiences have come to expect as well new and exciting programming and events! Paulini is a New York based actor, writer, director/choreographer and educator. New York work includes Playwrights Horizon, 54Below, Roundabout, NYTW and more. He is a founding member of S.E.E. (Spontaneous Evolution Ensemble). He currently serves as Associate Artistic Director of Off-Broadway's Out of the Box Theatrics (www.ootbtheatrics.com). Ethan has appeared in numerous national tours and regional theatre. Credits include Elf (title role), Avenue Q, The Who's Tommy, The Full Monty, Compleat Wks, Spelling Bee, White Christmas Side Man, Urinetown, Spider Woman, Gross Indecency, Old Wicked Songs, The Last 5 Years, Forever Plaid, tick, tick...BOOM!, A Class Act, Moon Over Buffalo, The Foreigner, Chicago, Spamalot, Kiss Me, Kate, 9 to 5, The Little Mermaid, Our Town, The Drowsy Chaperone, The 39 Steps and Young Frankenstein. Regional theatres include Arkansas Rep, Vineyard Playhouse, Northern Stage, Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, WHAT, TriArts, Sharon Playhouse, Alhambra, Ocean State and more. Ethan has originated roles in works by Marisa Michelson, Lance Horne, Tom Dudzick, Andrew Gerle and David Caudle. Television and film credits include The Big Headache, It Is What It Is, "Here and Now" (NBC) and "The Quinn-Tuplets" (CBS, directed by Emmy Winner Mimi Leder) as well as numerous national commercials. Directing and choreography credits include Passing Strange, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Romance/Romance, Little Women, Master Harold and the Boys, Into the Woods, Charlie Brown, The Music Man, The Full Monty, Working, Speech and Debate, Really Rosie and Joseph....Dreamcoat. His show Mama and Her Boys premiered in 2011 and has since been performed over 300 times all over the country, including an 18 month Off-Broadway run.

As a teacher and career coach (www.ethancoaches.com), Ethan has over 200 private clients. The #ethancoaches community is represented on Broadway, National Tour, Regionally and on TV and Film. He is on the faculty of Cape Cod Theatre Company - Home of HJT and Reel Artistry NYC. He has also taught at Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, ACT, Ouchita Baptist University and directed professional training programs for Arkansas Repertory Theatre. The Weathervane Theatre was founded in in 1965 by Gibbs Murray and the late Tom Haas. For over half a century, it has presented high quality professional productions of plays and musicals. One of the few remaining alternating rep companies in the United States, the Weathervane is recognized as a historical institution nationwide, boasting among it's alumni Elizabeth Stanley, Tally Sessions, 4 time Tony nominee Judy Kuhn and recent Tony Award Winner Ari'el Stachel.
