Musical Theatre Guild Replaces DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY With TITANIC in Season Lineup
By: Kelsey Denette
Musical Theatre Guild, the winner of the Los Angles Drama Critic's Circle Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in the theatre, has announced a change in its seventeenth season of Broadway in Concert musicals.
Due to an unforeseen and last-minute issue with the publishing company that owns the performance rights to DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY, the company has chosen to honor the 100th Anniversary of a tragic event by replacing it with the multiple Tony© Award winning TITANIC.
With a score by Maury Yeston and a book by Peter Stone (the same team as DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY), TITANIC was hailed by The New Yorker as "grave and entertaining, somber and joyful... a genuine addition to American musical theatre."
The remainder of the season remains the same with all five shows playing at both the Alex Theatre in Glendale and the Scherr Forum at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.
Season tickets are on sale now directly through the Alex Theatre Box Office or by calling 818-243-ALEX. The season at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza is available by calling 805-449-2775.
The historic Alex Theatre is located at 216 North Brand Blvd in Glendale. The intimate
Scherr Forum at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza is located at 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd., in Thousand Oaks.
For single tickets to the Alex Theatre, call the Alex Theatre Box Office at 818-243-ALEX. Single tickets to the Scherr Forum are available by calling Ticketmaster at 805-538-8700 or at the Civic Arts Plaza box office.
