Disney's MARY POPPINS Set for LA Run August-September
The world's most famous nanny returns to Los Angeles for four weeks only with MARY POPPINS. Featuring the irresistible story and unforgettable songs from one of the most popular Disney films of all time, plus brand-new breathtaking dance numbers and spectacular stage-craft, Mary Poppins will begin previews on August 9 (2pm and 7.30pm) and open August 10 (7.20pm) through September 2 at Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre at the Music Center, 135 N. Grand Avenue in Downtown L.A. 90012.
Mary Poppins has Original Music and Lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, Book by Julian Fellowes, New Songs and Additional Music and Lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe. It is Co-Created by Cameron Mackintosh and Produced for Disney Theatrical Productions by Thomas Schumacher with Sound Design by Paul Groothuis, Lighting Design by Natasha Katz, Scenic and Costume Design by Bob Crowley, Co-Choreography by Stephen Mear, Co-Direction and Choreography by Matthew Bourne. The show is Directed by Richard Eyre, with Associate Choreographer and Original Choreography Adapted by Geoffrey Garratt. The Tour is Directed by Anthony Lyn.
Performances are Tuesday through Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; No Monday performances. There will be an added 2 p.m. performance on Thursday, August 30; No 7:30 p.m. performance on Sunday, September 2.
