Eugene Onegin—A Bluegrass Musical by Sarah Gancher (creator of the Obie Award-winning Russian Troll Farm) is a potent mix of original bluegrass and country, barbeque, and feverish young love. Pushkin's novel and Tchaikovsky's opera have been completely reimagined, now set in 1940s rural Arkansas, where a girl who dreams of writing songs falls for a dangerously magnetic—but jaded—touring musician.
TheatreSquared is closing its 20th anniversary season with Eugene Onegin: A Bluegrass Musical, a new adaptation by Sarah Gancher directed by Rachel Chavkin. Check out photos from the production.
TheatreSquared will present EUGENE ONEGIN: A BLUEGRASS MUSICAL, directed by Tony winner Rachel Chavkin, with 15 actor-musicians performing in a reconfigured in-the-round West Theatre in Fayetteville, AR.
