Experience the passion of the greatest love story ever told, set to the greatest music ever written for the human voice. Tristan und Isolde, Richard Wagner's 1865 opera, finally makes its Kansas City debut in 2024, brought to life by dramatic voices from New York, Missouri and Kansas. This concert version of the opera takes place at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection on August 17th at 2:00 pm. Featuring soprano Kelly Morel in the role of the Irish princess Isolde and tenor Samson Day as the warrior Tristan, the cast is rounded out by local Kansas City talent including Joanna Ehlers in the role of Brangaene, Matthew Scrivner as King Marke, Nathan Whitson as Kurwenal and Kevin Smith as the treacherous Melot. Kansas City-based coach/repetiteur John Livingston serves as collaborative pianist.
