Variety Company TAINTED CABARET Announce U.S. Tour

A national tour of 26 cities in 18 states has been announced by the company of Tainted Cabaret, the downtown artist collective formed of burlesque starlet Ula Uberbusen (USA), the comedy performer Matt Roper (UK), circus artist Miss Ekaterina (Russia) and boylesque act James and the Giant Pasty (Canada).

Originally founded in 2013 by Uberbusen and Teddy Turnaround, Tainted Cabaret is given a neo-variety format for the tour, which commences 3/16 in Washington D.C.

The company will travel to cities including Atlanta, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Denver, Dallas, Houston, New Orleans and Philadelphia before they close in New York City at the Slipper Room on 4/15.

Ula Uberbusen is a performer and producer of such touring hits as Twirly Whirly Burly-Q and Victrola Burlesque. Recently seen in the award-winning New York burlesque film The Cruel Tale of The Medicine Man, she performs regularly around the city and has been featured in countless festivals across the United States.

Comedian Matt Roper first came to the attention of New York theatre-goers Off Broadway with his portrayal of Chico Marx in I'll Say She Is: The Lost Marx Brothers Musical at the Connelly Theater and more recently over the holiday season as lead comic in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Playhouse Theater at the Abrons Arts Center - the first major pantomime seen in the city for over a century. Roper is best known to downtown audiences for his late-night performances under the guise of his alter-ego Wilfredo, the powerhouse musical comedy creation.

Miss Ekaterina is a variety artist whose work encompasses circus, contortion, burlesque, high-wire, aerial and beyond. A former Miss Coney Island, Miss Ekaterina has appeared in Julie Taymor's Across the Universe and in Julie Atlas Muz and Mat Fraser's Jack and the Beanstalk alongside Matt Roper at the Abrons. Born in Russia, where she trained as a rhythmic gymnast - she was once a member of the Russian National Team - she joined the Antigravity dance troupe before moving to New York City.

James and the Giant Pasty's credits include the Burlesque Hall of Fame, the New York and Vienna Boylesque Festivals, Toronto, Kitchener and Ottawa Pride, The Feminist Porn Awards, and The Life Ball in Vienna. He is also the founder and artistic director of BoylesqueTO, Canada's Premiere All-Male Burlesque Troupe. In 2014 he was featured in the television documentary I'm A Stripper: Boylesque (LOGO, OutTV), after scandalizing his home nation with a notorious appearance on Canada's Got Talent.
