Award Winning theatre and film company Vincent Victoria Presents premieres its latest original play "The 1968 Cherry Cola Pitts Christmas Special".The musical play is a biting satire on 1960's Christmas Specials and race relations and is set set in the explosive year of 1968. The play features the character Cherry Cola Pitts, an openly gay entertainer navigating fame, freedom, and chaos under the studio lights in a comeback special similar to the Elvis Presley special. With Christmas as its thematic backdrop, the show promises to be a crowd favorite this holiday season. The play features strong Adult Lanuage and themes.
It’s a fantasy idea that a black gay man could have a Christmas special in 1968 that would revel in his own identity so unapologetically. It sure wasn’t the world of that time, and it sure isn’t the world of today. But in some strange way, you will leave wishing it were the world we live in.
