Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre (HEART) proudly celebrates five
years of inspiring young artists and strengthening community through live theatre
with a special Fifth Anniversary Benefit Concert and Fundraiser on Monday,
February 9 at 7:00 PM at the historic Hilo Palace Theatre.
This milestone event will raise critical funds for HEART’s upcoming youth
production of Disney’s Frozen — a large-cast, inclusive production designed to
serve 50–100 local youth performers, both onstage and behind the scenes.
The evening will feature Very Special Guest Artist Matt Shingledecker, whose
Broadway, Off-Broadway, and national tour credits include starring roles in Wicked,
Les Misérables, West Side Story, Rent, and Spring Awakening. He will be joined by
Nashville singer-songwriter Hobo Cane (Javier Mendoza); The cast of HEART's upcoming musical, DEAR EVAN HASEN, HEART all-star Meili
Aspen, who recently starred in HEART productions of Cabaret, Heathers, and Chicago; as well as island favorites Pomai Conant-Longakit and Kimo Apaka. This concert is a celebration of how far we’ve come — and a look toward where
we’re going.
HEART’s work has received statewide recognition, including five BroadwayWorld
Awards, most recently earning Best Youth Theatre in the State of Hawaii and Best
Play for its acclaimed production of A View from the Bridge.
Tickets for the Benefit Concert start at $20, and every ticket purchased and every
donation made directly supports HEART’s youth programs and helps bring Frozen
to life on stage. Tickets can be purchased online or by phone at the Palace Box
Office at 808-934-7010 or at:
