It’s Just a Harmless Little Bunny! Monty Python’s Spamalot Brings Big Laughs
and Silly Romance to the Stage
The Aloha Performing Arts Company proudly presents Monty Python’s Spamalot, the
outrageously funny, Tony Award–winning musical that skewers the legend of King Arthur and
the Knights of the Round Table. Performances run February 21 through March 8 at the Aloha
Theatre in Kainaliu.
Lovingly ripped off from the classic film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot follows
King Arthur and his misfit band of knights on an absurd quest filled with flying cows,
overzealous French taunters, men in tights, killer rabbits, and — of course — plenty of Spam.
Along the way, audiences are treated to unexpected romance, show-stopping musical numbers,
and the irreverent humor that has made Monty Python a cultural phenomenon.
Directed by Vic Pisauro with music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, Spamalot combines
Broadway spectacle with Python’s signature wit. From the toe-tapping “Always Look on the
Bright Side of Life” to the hilariously over-the-top “Diva’s Lament,” the show delivers laughs at
every turn while poking fun at musical theater itself.
The performers include Jeff Case (King Arthur), Binti Bailey (Lady of the Lake), John Holliday
(Patsy), Jason Harbaugh (Sir Lancelot), Bobby Phares (Sir Robin), Chris Bashear (Sir Galahad),
Robb Dahlke (Sir Bedevere) and Liam Chemnick (Historian). The ensemble consists of Caleb
Milliken, Kevin Paradez Rodrigues, Lillian Brashear, Taylor Deskin, Mikayla Winker, Aliza
Leander, Molly Culnane, Tori Sanford and Ash Miller.
Kerry Matsumoto is the assistant director and Tracey Pisauro is the choreographer. Judith
Tringali designed the costumes, hair and makeup while Lisa Weeks is the props master. Dale
Ross is the musical director and Erin Deskin is the vocal director. Jeff Rowand is the sound and
lighting designer.
Winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical, Spamalot has delighted audiences around the
world with its sharp satire, infectious score, and wildly imaginative storytelling. Whether you’re
a devoted Monty Python fan or new to the Knights Who Say ‘Ni!,’ you don’t want to miss this
night of escapist fun and ridiculous romance.
