SEEKING
Equity actors for roles in WARRIOR QUEEN - ANAHIT THE BRAVE (see breakdown).

VACCINATION: All performers, crew, and staff must be fully vaccinated, as well as boosted (if eligible).

The production stage manager has been hired, but an actor playing one one of the supporting characters may be asked to do some ASM work (rehearsal room prep, prop and costume support, etc.).

SEE PREPARATION IN BREAKDOWN. Please upload your audition video file to the web and share the link to your file in your email. We recommend uploading to Google Drive, Vimeo or Dropbox. Make sure the sharing setting for your files is set to ‘Anyone with the link can view’ and that the file is downloadable. E-mail your audition video link, headshot, and resume with the subject: Warrior Queen - [Character name]. Submission deadline is 1:00 pm PT on September 6.

BREAKDOWN

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1. SLATE: Name, height, which character you are auditioning for, where you are located.

2. MONOLOGUE: Please submit a one-minute period monologue (no Shakespeare.)

3. Label your file as: Your first and last name. File should be 300MB or smaller.


ANAHIT [Female in early 20s. 5’5” to 5’9”] Strong second soprano & dancer. Armenian. Peasant and master rug weaver. Smart, capable, brave, willful, but likes to do things on her own. Through a chance meeting, meets the King and becomes Queen. When their kingdom is invaded by dark forces, raises an army of women, and rescues the King and all the men of her kingdom.

VACHAGAN [Male in late 20s. 5’9”+]. Strong tenor & dancer. Armenian. King of the Armenian Highlands. Sincere, wants to be progressive but is scared of change. Loves his people and wants to be a good leader. Truly loves Anahit.

NAIRI [Female in early 20s] Strong soprano & dancer. Also raps. Any ethnicity. Anahit and Maral's best friend. Strong, independent. Peasant, dreams of being a warrior.

MARAL [Female in early 20s] Strong soprano & dancer. Any ethnicity. Anahit and Nairi's best friend. Daughter of a blacksmith. Peasant, gentle, brave, funny.

APEP [Male in his 40s or 50s. 5’9”+] Strong singer. Agile and moves well. Raps. Middle-Eastern. God of Chaos and Destruction. A narcissist, has delusions of grandeur. Steals souls since he doesn’t have one. Darkly funny.

ARMAN [Male in his 30s.] Strong tenor and dancer. Any ethnicity. King Vachagan’s best friend and protector. Loves tradition.

All actors will play other roles (townspeople, demons, etc.) and must be comfortable with stage combat.
