[JONATHAN] Male presenting. 25-early 30s. A struggling musical theatre composer on the brink of his 30th birthday in NYC. Deeply committed to his craft, never stops thinking of the next song and always self-assured about his vision. He’s less assured about his personal life. Charming, passionate, ironic, and a often self-involved. Michael’s roommate and Susan’s boyfriend. Tenor.

[MICHAEL] Male presenting. 25-early 30s. Jon’s roommate. A gay business professional with an artist’s soul. Career-oriented and self-image conscious, but a devoted and honest friend to Jon and a kind soul to all. Has comedic timing. Character Doublings: COUNTER GUY, DAD, and MARKET RESEARCH GUY. Tenor.

[SUSAN] Female presenting. 25-early 30s. Jon’s girlfriend. Modern dancer thinking of leaving NYC to live a more suburban life. Independent, but loving and supportive. Grows increasingly frustrated with Jon’s pre-occupation and lack of commitment to their future together. Has comedic timing. Character Doublings: KARESSA, ROSA, JUDY, and MOM. High belt.
