If hired on a resident contract, you will be in rehearsal for one show during the day and performing another show at night and/or matinee. Offers are only valid as a resident contract. EPA procedures are in effect for this audition. An Equity Monitor will be provided.

Tracy Turnblad - ROLE IS CAST. Our story's unsuspecting protagonist. Confident, talented, and incredibly determined. A romantic with a good heart and desire to cut up the dance floor. Always on top of the latest trends. Tracy Turnblad is a young lady with big hair and an even bigger personality! She is the hero of our story, and she is sweet but also strong in her convictions. She is bigger in size than the other girls, but she isn't shy about it - she can still dance with the best of them! An excellent singer and dancer, who has wonderful stage presence and can easily capture the audience's hearts. 18+ to play high school age. Gender: Female Presenting. Edna Turnblad - ROLE IS CAST. Tracy's big and blonde mother. She is a working housewife who has lost her confidence and dream to be a plus-size clothing designer. Boisterous and commanding. Penny Pingleton - ROLE IS CAST. Tracy's best friend and dorky sidekick. Not the brightest girl, but she has good intentions. Velma Von Tussle - ROLE IS CAST. Amber's mother and the director of Corny Collins' show. She is a devious taskmaster and snobby racist. Amber Von Tussle - ROLE IS CAST. Link's girlfriend and Tracy's nemesis. She is pretty, shallow, snobby, and racist. Can't dance but is expected to win Miss Baltimore Hairspray. Link Larkin - ROLE IS CAST. The star heartthrob on Corny Collins' show. He is extremely attractive and talented.
