SEEKING:

[MARIA RAINER] Female-Identifying, 20s, spirited, passionate and charming, though occasionally filled with self-doubt. Authentically down to earth, caring and committed; chest mix with strong head voice.

[CAPTAIN VON TRAPP] Male-Identifying, 30s to 40s, commanding presence, retired naval officer and proud Austrian. Highly organized and regimented, efficient and smart; baritone.

[ELSA SCHRAEDER] Female-Identifying, 30s to 40s, wealthy widow, she is sophisticated, charming and clever, legit soprano range with a high A.

[MAX DETWEILLER] Male-Identifying, 40s to 50s, witty and clever impresario who can be charming but pushy when pursuing what he wants; strong character with good sense of comedy; baritone.

[MOTHER ABBESS] Female-Identifying, 30s to 50s, wise, kind and strong with authority; powerful chest and head voice; mezzo or soprano (B-Ab).

[LIESL VON TRAPP] Female-Identifying, 18+ to play 16; teen on the verge of womanhood; innocent, naïve, and initially infatuated with Rolf. Chest mix with a head voice (low G-F#) and comfortable with dance.

[ROLF GRUBER] Male-Identifying, 18+ to play 17, epitome of clean cut, athletic German youth; self important but pleasant, he can be somewhat aggressive; lyric baritone; comfortable with dance.
