PREPARATION

Please prepare a 90 second, serio-comic monologue and a 90 second upbeat song or ballad that shows off your vocal range. Also, please bring your headshot and resume stapled together.

Calpurnia: PRECAST (11-12) a delightfully unique and intelligent girl with a curious mind about the natural world around her

Alfred/Mr. Hofhacket/Mr. Fleming: PRECAST (40-50) Calpurnia’s father of a few words/Mr. Hofhacket - a very full of himself photographer /Mr. Fleming - a postman with the gift of gab’

Lula: PRECAST (11-13) practically perfect girl in every way and Calpurnia’s best friend

Margaret (40-50) Calpurnia’s Mother, focused on propriety and teaching her daughter the science of housewifery

Grandfather (60-75) Calpurnia’s somewhat reclusive and eccentric grandfather, amateur naturalist with his own laboratory

Harry (early 20s) Calpurnia’s oldest and favorite brother, in love with Minerva Sam (14-17) Calpurnia’s middle brother, with a crush on Lula

Viola (40-60) the feisty cook and Mrs. Brown, the flamboyant piano teacher

Travis (12-14) Calpurnia’s youngest brother, with a crush on Lula
