The Cuban Vote Character Descriptions:

Alex Mesa (45) -- a superstar DC political consultant with Miami roots. Ambitious, strategic, and handsome, with old school confidence and charm, he is well sought after by aspiring candidates and single women alike. Alex only plays to win. With a perfect track record, he's yet to meet his match until he takes on larger-than-life mayoral hopeful Carolina Clarens. Has language and comedic chops.

Benji Carbonell (40) -- a Coral Gables prep boy turned tech bro whose privileged life has basically been one long Polo commercial. Surprisingly self aware with a robust albeit infantile sense of humor and a gigantic heart, Benji can have depth when it's least expected. A kind of little brother to Alex, he is driven to prove himself worthy, at any cost, to Blanca, the woman he is desperately in love with --and to her family whom he feels more at home with than his own. Has language and comedic chops.

Blanca Clarens (35) -- an Influencer and renowned beauty. Daughter of beloved deceased Miami Mayor and younger sister and fierce loyal partner in crime to current Mayoral candidate Carolina Clarens. Blanca's beauty, social media savvy, and even temper have forever been deployed to offset Carolina's opposite demeanor. Cast as the ideal beautiful and amiable daughter/sister/girlfriend, her unsuspecting strength, clarity, and strategy are formidable --and come as a welcome surprise. Has language and comedic chops.

Ofelia Clarens (75) -- fierce Cuban mother to Blanca and Carolina. Model wife to the beloved, deceased Miami Mayor Clarens and Campaign Manager for daughter Carolina's current run. Formidable, elegant, gorgeous, and pragmatic. Ofelia with her own law degree in hand, found it more viable to support her husband's political career with her instinct and gravitas over forging her own. As her husband's most successful visionary and behind the scenes strategist for decades, she is currently being stretched in entirely new ways as she attempts to groom Carolina for public office. Nothing gets past Ofelia. She knows her daughters better than they know themselves. Has language and comedic chops. Fluent English with a generous dose of Spanish.

Gilberto Ruiz (75) -- a never do well dreamer and loveable, larger-than-life drunk who when plucked from obscurity to play a role in the election for mayor decides to sober up and embrace the moment with all the gusto he can muster. A cantankerous and hilarious old scamp, he has the instincts to take to the streets and airwaves to successfully harness the zeitgeist with ridiculous behavior, generic promises, tribalism, casual misogyny and fear mongering. A surprisingly competitive foil who turns the tables on the experienced politicos as a deliciously entertaining and harmless alternative for Mayor. Has language and comedic chops. Fluent English with a generous dose of Spanish.

Carolina Clarens (45) -- a candidate for Mayor of Miami Dade. A full figured firework which lights up the sky, or blows up the barge, depending on the mood you catch her in. Blanca’s oldest sister and Ofelia’s daughter her ambitions are the tip of her family’s spear as were those of her father’s. Relentless, she doesn’t suffer fools but has a cookie heart that crumbles quietly. CAST.
