SEEKING

Equity actors for chorus singer parts in THE COLOR PURPLE.

Ensemble/Church Lady: Female-identifying 20-50s Black. Church lady who serves as a Greek/Gospel chorus who comments on the events of Celie’s life throughout the journey.

Ensemble/Squeak: Female-identifying, 20-29 Black. Harpo’s devoted and fiercely protective girlfriend who serves as his great motivator; she possesses a voice that matches her name with mathematical exactness.

Female-Identifying Ensemble: 20-40s. Black. Strong singers to play the featured ensemble roles of Olivia and others.

Ensemble/Pa: Male Identifying, 35-50. Black. Father to Celie and Nettie. Celie’s sexual abuser. Troubled man.

Male-identifying Ensemble: Ages 20-40s. Black. Strong singers to play the featured ensemble roles of, Buster/Grady/Bobby, Preacher/Ole Mister, Adam and others.
