Breakdown

Peter & The Starcatcher is a prequel to Peter Pan, which is a “Play with Music.” All of the 11 who sing intermittently must move well. All actors have one main role and many supporting characters. Seeking actors primarily in their late teens to early 50s.

(Some Roles are doubled)

Seeking:

PETER
(Plays early teens) An orphan boy who doesn't miss much. A survivor; nameless, homeless, who by the end is our play's hero.

PRENTISS
(Plays early teens) Another orphan boy, who wants to be a leader. A bit of a blowhard, he is hyper articulate.

TED
(Plays early teens) Another orphan boy, obsessed with food. A natural actor with an easy wit. Though called Tubby by Prentis, it’s not due to their meager diets.

LORD LEONARD ASTOR
(40's - 50's) The very model of a perfect Victorian English Gentleman. A good father and….a Starcatcher, dedicated to protecting all the people of the Earth from the awesome power of starstuff.

MOLLY ASTOR
(Plays early teens) A true leader when girls were mostly followers. Passionate, with romantic longings which can revert to childish tantrums under pressure, because she is after all a 13 year old.

MRS BUMBRAKE
Molly's Nanny, British to the bone. (Played by a male member of the ensemble).

CAPT. ROBERT FALCON SCOTT.
THE Scott of the Antarctic who in this story is the Captain of the Frigate The Wasp.

GREMPKIN
The mean and malodorous headmaster of St. Norbert's Orphanage for Lost Boys.

BILL SLANK
The Neverland's vicious captain.

ALF
An Old Sea Dog.

MACK
A very bad sailor who wishes nothing more than to be free of Capt. Slank.

THE BLACK STACHE
A last holdout from the golden age of pirates...precursor for Capt. Hook.

SMEE
The Black Stache's first mate. His motto, It's good to be busy.

SANCHEZ
A hard working Spanish pirate.

FIGHTING PRAWN
King of the South Seas island tribe, The Mollusks. A formerly enslaved British butler, he has escaped back to his home island.

HAWKING CLAM
Son of Fighting Prawn.

TEACHER
a former salmon who is now a wise mermaid.
