As part of a pilot program created in the new agreement for Production: Broadway and Sit-Downs, the employer will accept 126 video submissions from Equity members. Members will sign up online for one of the 126 slots. Only members who get one of the 126 slots will receive a confirmation e-mail with the preparation and submission information. After members' submissions have been viewed, the employer will notify each member who viewed their audition.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

MALE-IDENTIFIED/NON-BINARY UNDERSTUDY: Latinx, Asian, Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian, White, Black, Bi-Racial. Male-Identified or Non-Binary, 30s-50s. A skilled piano player. To understudy MARY’S HUSBAND’S ASSISTANT/KYLE as well as MARY’S HUSBAND and MARY’S TEACHER:

[MARY’S HUSBAND’S ASSISTANT/KYLE] MARY’S HUSBAND’S ASSISTANT: Plays piano well. Abraham’s right hand man. Dry. All business. He is the definition of patriotic loyalty. His militaristic stoicism is an intimidating facade hiding the fact that he ultimately is not very bright. KYLE: A regular at a local Washington, DC saloon.

[MARY’S HUSBAND] A vain and tortured man under a great deal of pressure. Obsessed with
appearances and order, he also craves peace and quiet, even if he clings to it with a white-knuckle
grip. Despite this craving for peace (or maybe because of it), he does have a short fuse and is easily
and suddenly angered.

[MARY’S TEACHER] A sensitive, self-conscious romantic and a man of many skills. Handsome. Most of the time he is quite shy and unsure of himself, but when it comes to going after the one he loves, something comes over him and he is able to shed his self-doubt and hold passionately to the object of his desire

MARY’S CHAPERONE: is the ideal politician’s wife and she knows it. She reveres power and status. She has the smug poise and charm of someone who knows they’re better than you, however she’s always got an eye out for opportunities to climb even higher up the social ladder. Doubles as BILL: street-wise, no nonsense bartender with a tough exterior but soft and sentimental at heart.
