Seeking
Equity actors, singers and dancers for various roles and chorus parts in the upcoming 2014-15 Season.

Preparation Instructions:

Actor auditions:
Prepare two brief contrasting monologues. Note that there may be time to perform one selection only. Producer requests contemporary material. Some may be asked to stay for cold readings. If wanting to audition for singing and acting roles, please prepare one brief song and one brief contemporary monologue and attend the “singing” audition time-frame. No accompanist is provided during the Actor auditions.

Singing auditions:
Prepare two brief songs (one up-tempo and one ballad). Note that there may be time to perform one selection only. If wanting to audition for singing and acting roles, please prepare one brief song and one brief contemporary monologue and attend the “singing” audition time-frame. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided, but will not transpose. Some may be asked to stay for the dance call. Bring appropriate dancewear and (if you have them) dance shoes.

Dancer auditions:
Be warmed up and ready to dance when the call begins. Wear appropriate dancewear and have ballet and character shoes. Some may be asked to stay and sing after all have danced. Please prepare 16 bars of an up-tempo musical theatre song. Bring sheet music in the correct key; an accompanist will be provided, but will not transpose.

Please bring a picture & resume, securely stapled back-to-back.

20s; Soprano; A cockney flower girl who wants to better herself through phonetic lessons. Looking for a dynamite singer who is also a charming actress with an understanding of diction, classic text, warmth and humor.

HENRY HIGGINS
40s; Baritone; A world famous phonetics expert, teacher, and author. He is a confirmed bachelor. He is equal parts abrasive and impatient and does not suffer fools easily.

COLONEL PICKERING
50s; Baritone; Retired British officer and author. An intellectual sparring partner of Henry Higgins with a strong essence of propriety, manners and kindness.

ALFRED DOOLITTLE
50s; Baritone; An older but vigorous dustman. An abundant drinker who has a clear zest for life and love of the ladies.

FREDDY EYNSFORD-HILL
20s; Tenor; An upper class young man who becomes completely smitten with Eliza.

MRS. HIGGINS
50s-60s; character singer/actor; Henry Higgins’s very upper class, long suffering mother.

MRS. PIERCE
30s-50s; character singer/actor: Henry Higgins’s housekeeper.

ENSEMBLE
Young, old and in-between energetic and charismatic actor/singers who move well or dance well with broad vocal range. They will play the servants, drinking companions, lords, ladies, buskers, policemen, etc.
