All actors double as the character of NOISES OFF playing the character of NOTHING ON, the play within the play. Please prepare with English accents.
Dotty Otley
(late 40-mid 50) attractive but fading former leading lady, she is forgetful, confused and a bit coy, dating Gary she plays with his jealousy by flirting with Freddy/ doubles as Mrs Clackett, the housekeeper for the Brent’s home in England, she is hospitable but a bit put-out with the sudden onslaught of visitors, working-class.
Frederick “Freddy” Fellows
(early – late 40) An actor with a serious fear of violence and blood, prone to nose bleeds; wildly insecure, questions the meaning of his lines and moves, blames himself for anything that goes wrong/ double as Philip Brent, a county gentleman of no means who avoids his taxes by living out of the country. He has snuck home for a brief visit, knowing that if he is caught he will lose his home and income to the Inland Revenue. Also plays Sheikh, the spitting image of Philip,
