BREAKDOWN

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:

At the start of video, please give your name and the titles of your monologues or monologue/song.

Please prepare two contrasting monologues no longer than three minutes total. Those who wish to be considered for Little Shop of Horrors, “Blues in the Night, or “Honky Tonk Angels should substitute one monologue with a brief cut of a song in the style of one of the season's shows. You may also use the accompaniment at https://www.mbtheatre.com/auditions

The Plant (Audrey Two) - Puppeteer who manages four puppets of various sizes.

Crystal, Ronnette, Chiffon - Black, female, young. Hip and smart urchins.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Scrooge

Ensemble: Multiple roles.

BIRTHDAY CLUB

Cheryl - Fifty, female, married, business owner, control issues.

Emily - Forties, female, lots of work done. High school teacher, divorced twice.

Abbie - Thirties, female, married. Stay-at-home wife. Easy life.

Kathy - Forty, female, works in law enforcement, married, four kids, very tough.

Sarah - Twenties, works for Cheryl, member of strict religion, wholesome and naive.

BLUES IN THE NIGHT

The Lady From the Road - Black, female, late 50s/early 60s, rich voice.

The Woman of the World - Female, indeterminate age, beautiful and mysterious.

The Girl with a Date - Female, very young, warm voice, innocent but capable of great bitterness.

The Man in the Saloon - Male, charming and dangerous, in control.

HARRY TOWNSEND'S LAST STAND

Harry Townsend - Male, almost 85 years old. Spunky and spirited. Struggles with fragility of old age.

Alan Townsend - Male, flip, sarcastic, and efficient. Not as energetic as his father.

HONKY TONK ANGELS

Angela - Female, mid-thirties, Texas housewife with great sense of humor and very independent.

Darlene - Female, late teens to early twenties, from the deep south. Pretty, sweet, and simple. Clogs and plays guitar.

Sue Ellen - Female, mid-thirties, Citified country girl. Smart, attractive, sexy. Great dancer. Roller skates, twirls baton, and clogs.

NOISES OFF

Dotty Otley - Female.

Lloyd Dallas - Male.

Garry Lejeune - Male.

Brooke Ashton - Female.

Poppy Norton-Taylor - Female.

Frederick Fellowes - Male.

Belinda Blair - Female.

Tim Allgood - Male.

Electrician - Any gender.
